Both Agia Paraskevi the village and the beach took their name after the close little church of Agia Paraskevi.The village is placed in the south area, 7 km far from Skiathos town. It is a picturesque village , reminiscent of the Mount Pelion area ,with tall trees and aspens to sit down under their shade and delight in a traditional Greek coffee. Here, you will find a lot of taverns serving Greek menu just close to the sea. It is worth trying seafood and fish when eating at these places. Enjoying delicious dishes along with the sea breeze will surely make you wish to stay on the island forever!
The village has something for everyone. There are literally lots of cafes, bars and clubs scattered throughout the area to keep you entertained at night. A lot of Skiathos hotels you can find there.The beach is one of the largest on the island, with space for everyone. It is organized with crystal- clear water and offers romantic sunset views. From here, you could also rent boats to go on little trips around the island. The shore is usually busy, but there are two isolated smaller beaches nearby.
For walkers, there are walking paths to Kechria through the valley.It’s worth coming to Agia Paraskevi in July, Particularly on 26th July. Agia Paraskevi is celebrated and the locals organise a feast, in Greek”panygiri”. Such feasts are typical of Greece and every area has unique customs To observe them. A lot of fun, drinking and possibly dancing as well as other Cultural events are involved. Don’t miss it!
